Everyone has at least a little bit of writer inside of them. This is a good thing, and I encourage everyone to develop that muscle. But maybe you're uncertain if that piece of copy you have ready to go is as good as it could be.
Documented research reveals (and my personal experience confirms) that when you read your own work, your brain subconsciously glosses over some errors because it knows what the work is supposed to say. The more sets of eyes that are not yours that review a piece prior to publication, the better. This is a practice I employ regularly in my own writing.
